My passion for cooking began as a child spending time in the kitchen with my parents and my Sicilian grandmother. I spent my life as a military child moving around to various parts of the United States.
Ashley Nickell, Chef de Cuisine for Funky Monkey Wine Company, part of the FMI Restaurant Group, has always had a passion for food and entertaining. From an early age she would venture out of her comfort level to try new foods. Growing up with her father Eddie Nickell she was always surrounded by great food, great wine and great friends. Ashley came to the family restaurant five years ago as an apprentice to the Chef and quickly found her forte with food.more
The 2012 Downtown Food & Wine Fest will feature restaurants from virtually every part of Orlando and its surrounding areas. Restaurants will be offering taste size portions ranging from 1-4 tickets each. Food/drink tickets are available at the event for $2 each. A foodies dream come true, sample the best from area favorites and enjoy the 2 days of live music along with a huge selection of wine and drinks!
